There Are Some Strong Points But Also Some Weaker Ones. — I would tell them that the location, and general cleanliness of the building is excellent. I would also tell them that the laundry room and mail are well handled. However, I do think that the units are very small, while I like the building I'm sure that larger units are available in the neighborhood for cheaper if you're lucky enough to find one in your search window. When my lease expires I will be looking to see if there are larger cheaper units in the neighborhood. My only real gripe with the building management is that there are too many (far too many) entrances into the apartments for various reasons. My work sometimes requires late nights and I'm not always up and out of the building before 9am. I have on several occasions already woken up to a stranger opening door as I call out for them to wait a minute so that I can dress myself (the door opens into the bedroom/living room area). So far there have been entrances to check the smoke alarm, to check general cleanliness, for bug spraying and few others that I have forgotten the reason for. I do feel that it's invasive and would rather that all of the above be consolidated into one single entrance. In the previous building I lived, for example, there were never entrances made unless I requested some form of maintenance. Bottom line, I am reasonably happy and I would recommend Jefferson House to someone so long as they were not placing square footage space to rent price ratio as a high priority as I find it comparatively expensive on that measure even when heating is factored in. That said, if the rent were to increase again, I think that would flip me over from recommending Jefferson House to not recommending it. The square footage to rent ratio is too low already.

submitted by Roger R. - Sep 28, 2011|Recommended: YesFriendly Staff, Decent Maintenance, Quiet Building. — Good. It is quiet, and private. Mostly students or young professionals live here, it seems. Maintenance has been prompt when there were issues. The only complaint is an ongoing bug problem. An exterminator visited without me calling in a work order, but he didn't totally solve the problem.
